I have been working with Dr. Faria for 2 years now. I had Grave's Disease (hyperthyroidism). After following his individualized plan for me of diet, exercise, and supplements, the results were miraculous. First, my symptoms minimized to having no symptoms at all. Then my Endocrinologist took me off my thyroid support medication since I was asymptomatic, even though my thyroid levels in my blood work were still not yet optimal. But over the course of a year, my thyroid levels made it into the "normal" ranges after years of having to be on medication.The big push for my husband and I to invest in seeing Dr. Faria in the fall of 2016 was because we wanted to start a family but were told by my Endocrinologist it wouldn't be smart to get pregnant while having an overactive thyroid. Her solution- radioactive iodine treatment to kill part of my thyroid which would then give me an under-active thyroid for the rest of my life which would require medication, but that was "easier to manage than an over-active thyroid and safer for pregnancy." Because we had the luxury of time, we decided to try natural treatment options before jumping to the radioactive iodine treatment. It was the beginning of January 2017 that I was taken off of my thyroid medication. That entire year, I didn't experience any thyroid symptoms, and by December of 2017, my thyroid levels were in the "normal" range, and my Endocrinologist, and then Dr. Faria, both gave us the green light to start trying for a family. Well, it didn't take long. I found out I was pregnant in February 2018, and our healthy son was born the end of October.Following Dr. Faria's plan was NOT a quick fix and if you're not a compliant patient willing to make (potentially drastic) lifestyle changes, then Dr. Faria isn't for you. But if you're willing to invest in your health for the long-term and take care of your body from the inside out, Dr. Faria is an excellent choice to guide you along that path.
